The hotel chain Scandic Hotels reports an operating profit of 927 million kronor for the second quarter of the year. During the corresponding quarter a year earlier, the company made an operating profit of 833 million.
The net sales for the hotel chain, which has a total of 55,566 hotel rooms at the mid-year point, increased by 3.1 percent to 5.9 billion kronor. This was in line with expectations, according to Bloomberg's compilation of forecasts.
"Improved result and good booking situation", the company writes in the heading of the interim report.
"For the third quarter, we expect an occupancy rate in line with last year to slightly higher price levels. Households' demand for travel and leisure is high, and a more stabilized economic climate in the Nordic region paves the way for continued good development for the hotel market", says CEO Jens Mathiesen in a comment.
