The Swedish Tax Agency was subjected to repeated overload attacks during the morning, according to the agency's IT director in an interview with Göteborgs-Posten.
Initially, the problem with logging in to the Swedish Tax Agency's website was attributed to many people trying to file their tax returns at the same time. However, a few hours later it became clear that the problems were due to overload attacks, also known as ddos attacks.
Two attacks were carried out in the morning, and a third at around 11 am.
We have various countermeasures, while the attacker is using different methods to get to us. So, it's a cat-and-mouse game going on right now, said IT director Peder Sjölander to GP during the third attack.
The Swedish Courts Administration has also been affected by disruptions in its internal system during the morning. However, there are no indications that it was an overload attack, according to the press service. The problem has not affected trials or the ability to obtain verdicts.
