The average mortgage interest rate in Sweden fell slightly to 2.83 percent in July, according to the comparison service Zmarta.
The decline was 0.1 percentage points compared to the previous month. The lowest variable rate has Skandiabanken with 2.73 percent and Landshypotek with 2.76 percent.
The most expensive is Ica-banken with its 2.92 percent. The next most expensive is Swedbank with 2.90 percent, followed by Nordea, which has a variable average interest rate of 2.89 percent.
"We see that the previous interest rate cut in May is now starting to take effect in mortgage rates, even if it happens with some delay. Since variable loans are in practice tied to three months, it takes a while before the change is fully noticed by households," says Charlie Tideman, household economist at Zmarta, in a press release.
