The Stockholm stock exchange's broad OMXS index fluctuated around zero on Friday and closed at a plus of 0.2 percent, partly thanks to a strong increase in the index-heavy H&M share.

The clothing chain topped the large company list OMXS30 and rose 3.3 percent, followed by the mining company Boliden and the forest giant SCA, which increased 1.7 and 1.3 percent respectively. The major banks also performed well, with Nordea being the best of them, increasing 0.9 percent.

At the bottom of OMXS30 was Saab, down 3.7 percent. The defense group's share has had a weak week and fallen 5.7 percent since Monday morning.

On the leading European stock exchanges, the index movements were small. The London and Frankfurt stock exchanges fell slightly, while the Paris stock exchange rose about 0.5 percent.

In Copenhagen, Novo Nordisk lifted the index again when the share rose 4.6 percent. The OMX20 index increased 1.6 percent.

With Friday's rise, the Stockholm stock exchange has risen 2.5 percent since the turn of the year. During the past week, the OMXS index rose 0.8 percent.
