Two men from Öland have been sentenced to prison for manufacturing weapons using 3D printers. They manufactured revolvers, pen pistols, and rifle barrels and wrote to each other about the potential income this could generate. However, the prosecutor has not been able to show that they actually earned any money from the manufacturing, reports SVT News Småland.
The weapons have been tested at the National Forensic Centre and proven to be functional. The prosecutor believes that they could have been used to kill, but the men themselves claim that the weapons did not work and that it was just experimental activity.
One of the men has been sentenced to two years in prison, the other to two and a half years in prison.
