A man in his 60s has died in a traffic accident on E45 in Strömsunds municipality, according to the police. The man, who was traveling on a motorcycle, collided with an elk.
The driver's life could not be saved. He died on the spot, says the police's press spokesperson Maria Linné.
The man was from southern Sweden.
He was alone, there is no information that he should have been with others, says Maria Linné.
The elk died in connection with the accident, which occurred at 9:30 on Monday morning, and has been retrieved from the scene.
