Finance Minister Elisabeth Svantesson also comments on the death.
"I'm saddened by the news that Pehr G. Gyllenhammar has passed away. Pehr has meant a lot to Sweden over the decades, primarily through his commitment and hard work in Swedish business and especially as CEO and Chairman of Volvo. I mourn his passing and my thoughts are with Pehr's family and loved ones", she writes.
DN journalist Kristina Hedberg, who made a documentary about Gyllenhammar, highlights his strong will.
