A 35-year-old man has died in a parachuting accident at an airfield outside Västerås. He was taken to hospital with serious injuries, but his life could not be saved.
According to what I've heard, he swung along the ground and then it's easy to get too much speed and hit hard, says Anna Oscarson, communications officer at the Swedish Parachuting Association.
The association has launched an investigation into what caused the accident, which occurred at 3 pm on Saturday.
The police do not suspect any crime in connection with the incident.
The fatal accident is the fourth in six years in Västerås, reports Ekot on Swedish Radio.
