Totally 2,588,708 spectators watched Allsvenskan football this season. This means a new record as a 16-team league and an average of 10,786 spectators per match.
"It's extra fun that we're breaking these records the year Allsvenskan turns 100. The supporters create an incredible atmosphere at our matches in almost all cases and deserve great praise for their commitment", says Ola Rydén, league manager at Swedish Elite Football, in a press release.
The most spectators were attracted by AIK, which with a home average of 28,589 set a new attendance record for a single club.
