IFK Gothenburg's team captain Oscar Wendt is ending his football career.
"It feels great that my senior career both started and ended in the finest of clubs," he says on the club's website.
The 39-year-old left-back made his debut in 2003. In total, he played 207 matches and scored nine goals for IFK Gothenburg.
His last match was the autumn's derby win against Gais.
"It's a decision that has grown within me during the year, and although it certainly feels melancholic, I'm convinced it's the right decision. The year didn't turn out as anyone had hoped, but it still feels good that my last minutes as a player gave a derby win in front of a packed Gamla Ullevi," says Wendt.
