The Öresund Bridge was closed in both directions after an accident in the direction of Denmark on Friday evening. After nearly three hours, traffic was allowed to pass again.
Swedish police were the first on the scene after a car crashed into a roadwork on the Danish side of the bridge. Swedish and Danish rescue services as well as a Danish ambulance were also called to the scene.
The police were alerted to the accident at 20.18. One person was in the car, and before the Swedish police handed the case over to Denmark, an investigation was conducted to determine whether a crime had been committed or if it was simply an accident.
The bridge between Malmö and Copenhagen was completely closed from the time of the accident until shortly after 23.00, according to the Öresund Bridge's website.
