Tourists are avoiding summer trips to Paris due to the Olympic Games in the French capital, according to the French airline Air France.

Higher ticket prices and a high risk of traffic disruptions are scaring off many potential Paris visitors, according to the French airline, which estimates the revenue loss to be 160-180 million euros (1.8-2.0 billion kronor) during the summer season June-August.

The Olympics will take place from July 26 to August 11, and demand for "ordinary" Paris trips is expected to increase after that, according to Air France.

Air France has faced headwinds on the Paris stock exchange this year and lost 39 percent of its stock value since the turn of the year.
