On Tradera, the sale of used perfumes increased sharply last year. During the spring, 61 percent more perfumes were sold compared to the spring of 2023.

Last year, a total of 33 million kronor was spent on perfume via Tradera. The most popular brands for men were Dior, Giorgio Armani, and Hugo Boss. The average price of perfume on the second-hand market was 420 kronor.
Perfume has grown a lot among younger people and they often have a little less money, so it's clear that it also plays a role that it's cheaper to buy second-hand.
Jacob Östberg, professor of business economics at Stockholm University, says that the industry is favored by the fact that it is a luxury item that is relatively affordable to indulge in.
Even if it's tough times, you can stretch that far. So it becomes a way for it to compensate for not being able to afford the material excess in other ways that you might have dreamed of.
