The number of unemployed in June was 559,000 people, which corresponds to an unemployment rate of 9.4 percent, writes the Statistical Central Bureau (SCB) in a press release.

Seasonally adjusted and smoothed data, however, show an increase in both the number and proportion of employed. The seasonally adjusted and smoothed unemployment rate was 8.7 percent in June, according to SCB. It is the same level as the month before.

"The number of working hours is decreasing at the same time as unemployment remains at a higher level, not seasonally adjusted. Some positive signs can still be seen, for example, employment is increasing seasonally adjusted and smoothed", says Lena Johansson, statistician at SCB according to the press release.
