World number seven Lin Yun-Ju was too strong for Anton Källberg.

The Swedish table tennis player lost the round of 16 in the WTT tournament in Macao in three straight sets (4–11, 5–11, 9–11).

The Taiwanese player was fourth in the Olympic Games in 2021, but lost in the quarterfinals in Paris last summer to Frenchman Felix Lebrun, who earlier in the Olympic tournament eliminated Källberg. Källberg was then part of the team that took Olympic silver in the team event after deciding the semifinal against Japan.

Linda Bergström also got knocked out in the round of 16, winning the first set against Chinese player Chen Xingtong but then losing the next three (11–9, 7–11, 6–11, 4–11).

Mattias Falck, who was dropped from the Olympic team, also lost his match in Macao. German Dang Qui won 3–2 in sets, with the deciding set ending 11–7.

Thus, Olympic silver medalist Truls Möregårdh is the only Swede remaining in the main tournament. He plays his quarterfinal on Friday.
