The Olympic Games are over, but the rivalries within athletics persist. The Olympic Games winner in the 1,500 meters, USA's Cole Hocker, however, does not intend to engage in the so-called war of words between competitors Jakob Ingebrigtsen, Norway, and Josh Kerr, Great Britain.
I can't get into a ring with those two, Hocker replied jokingly ahead of the Diamond League competition in Lausanne, which takes place on Thursday.
The relationship between Kerr and Ingebrigtsen has been strained for a while, and the two runners have taken turns sending sarcastic comments to each other through the media.
Sebastian Coe, chairman of the International Athletics Federation, and himself an old Olympic gold medalist in the 1,500 meters, has said about the rivalry between Kerr and Ingebrigtsen that it is "a friendship that is not exactly made in heaven."
Hocker and Ingebrigtsen will start in Lausanne, but not Kerr.
