An officer at a regiment in Norrbotten is being dismissed. The man has been convicted of offensive photography of three colleagues as well as child pornography offenses, reports Norrbottens-Kuriren and Norrländska Socialdemokraten.
The man had on several occasions photographed female colleagues without their knowledge.
During a search of his mobile phones and a computer, over 5,000 images were found that could be classified as child pornography. Of these, approximately 500 were deemed to be particularly heinous assault material.
The district court convicted the man of the offensive photography and child pornography offenses. He was sentenced to a conditional sentence and day fines.
After the verdict, the regiment commander submitted a request to the Swedish Armed Forces' personnel disciplinary board to dismiss the man, reports SVT News Norrbotten. Now the board has decided that this will be the case.
The man has appealed the district court's verdict.
