The Norwegian equivalent to Swish, Vipps Mobilepay, is launched on Tuesday in Sweden.
This means that it is now possible to send money in a similar way as with Swish to people in Norway, Denmark, and Finland.
"This is a big day for us. We have long wanted to welcome our Swedish neighbors to our Nordic family, and now it's finally happening,” says the company's CEO Rune Garborg in a press release.
According to Garborg, the ambition is to make it as easy to pay across borders as within the different countries.
Vipps, and its sister app Mobilepay, has 12 million users in Denmark, Norway, and Finland today.
The service is not supported by all banks in Sweden. Currently, for example, Swedbank, Handelsbanken, and Länsförsäkringar are not connected.
It is free to receive money in the app, but Vipps Mobilepay charges a fee for those who send money between countries.
