"A great recognition and fantastic fun for the whole team", says director Eirik Svensson in a press release.

The film had its world premiere at the festival and is based on Lindis Hurum's autobiography about her time as a field worker in the Central African Republic for Doctors Without Borders.

"Before the darkness" is about the Norwegian aid worker Linn (Kristine Kujath Thorp). A Muslim man seeks refuge at the field hospital where she works. The Christian militia outside demands his life, whereupon Linn must make a series of difficult decisions to protect the man but also her colleagues.
