Norway is lowering the country's terror threat level from high to moderate – step three on a five-step scale. This is announced by the security service PST, which raised the level to four just over a month ago.
"First and foremost, Iran-related actors with a focus on Jewish and Israeli targets in Europe represented a new and unclear element in the Norwegian terror threat picture", writes PST in a report.
Now the picture has cleared up and the authorities are making the assessment that the threat level can be lowered. PST simultaneously notes that there is still a threat against Jewish institutions.
