Niger's military junta breaks off all diplomatic contacts with Ukraine with immediate effect and accuses Kiev of supporting "terrorist groups".
In a televised speech, the government's spokesman Amadou Abdramane says they will ask the UN Security Council to discuss Ukraine's "aggression".
The announcement comes only a few days after Mali also broke off its diplomatic ties with Ukraine after the Russian mercenary force Wagner and the Malian army suffered heavy losses against separatist forces at the end of July. Mali believes that Kiev may have been indirectly involved in the incident.
Niger, like Mali, is ruled by a military junta that has drawn closer to Russia after forcing French forces out of the country.
