It may become a strike in Hollywood again, reports Swedish Radio's Culture News. The reason is that parts of the negotiations between the actors' union Sag-Aftra and the video game industry have stalled.
The negotiations concern AI usage in the video game industry. The parties have not managed to reach an agreement on how the game industry may use AI to copy actors' voices and faces.
The members have now voted yes to going on strike in September if the parties do not come to an agreement.
Last year, both actors and screenwriters in Hollywood went on strike, among other things, to get compensation adjusted to the new streaming landscape and clearer rules on AI usage in the industry.
