If someone registers at an address where another person is already registered, that person will from now on be informed about it by the Tax Authority.
"This is requested and can prevent errors. We would like to urge the person who receives the letter from us to respond to it as quickly as possible", says Cajsa Toresten, coordinator at the Tax Authority.
The fact that people can register at addresses they have no actual connection to, without the people living there being aware of it, has been exploited by criminals. The problem has, among other things, been highlighted in connection with addresses of people who have become targets in gang conflicts being posted online.
