Together with Calle Halfvarsson, Svensson took a fine third place in Friday's sprint relay. But the form seems not to have held up.

In Saturday's individual sprint, in classical style, it ended already in the qualifying round. Svensson did not get better than 35th (top 30 advance) and will not be able to participate in the quarterfinals this afternoon.

A total of eight Swedish skiers – four women, four men – advanced to the final round in Italian Cogne.

On the women's side, Maja Dahlqvist was the fastest of the blue and yellow with a third place, barely three seconds behind Finnish Jasmi Joensuu.

Johanna Hagström, Märta Rosenberg, and Moa Lundgren also advanced, while Moa Hansson and Ella Olsson were eliminated.

Edvin Anger was second in the men's qualifying round, only beaten by Norwegian Erik Valnes. Anton Grahn also impressed with a third place in the qualifying round.

Måns Skoglund and Johan Häggström also advanced to the quarterfinals. Apart from Oskar Svensson, it stopped for Olof Jonsson.

The quarterfinals start at 1 pm.
