Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is to speak before the American Congress on July 24, confirmed by House Speaker Mike Johnson.
"We look forward to hearing the Israeli government's vision for defending democracy, combating terror, and establishing a just and lasting peace in the region," Johnson writes on X.
Netanyahu was invited last week to speak before Congress by both leading Republicans and Democrats. The invitation is seen as a show of support for an ally, as Israel is the subject of increasingly harsh criticism due to the conflict in Gaza.
Several members who are critical of Netanyahu's strategy are expected to boycott the speech.
