"Starship is taking off towards Mars at the end of next year, with Optimus on board", writes Musk. Optimus is the humanoid robot that Tesla, where Musk is CEO and major owner, is developing.
"If the landings go well, human travel can begin as early as 2029, but 2031 is more likely", Musk continues in a post on X.
It can be added that billionaire Musk is known for overly optimistic time forecasts. Starship has flown a number of test flights, but is still under development.
