The man struck his wife with a sword in their home in Arvika at the beginning of August. The couple's two children, who witnessed the event, raised the alarm, but the woman's life could not be saved.
On Friday, the three-day trial was concluded, and according to the prosecutor Barbro Brännlund, the 37-year-old man should be convicted of murder and deported after serving his sentence, writes NWT.
Since the children witnessed the murder, the prosecutor also demanded that the man be convicted of gross child abuse.
The man will now undergo a forensic psychiatric examination to determine whether the sentence will be imprisonment or care.
