Since the war in Ukraine broke out, applications from municipalities to MSB to set up more "Hesa Fredrik" have increased. This reports Sveriges Radio.
The question has been raised within municipalities that are starting to review this. And then they see that there are deficiencies in the coverage of the outdoor warning system, says Håkan Marcusson, system architect for warning systems at the agency, to SR.
Currently, there are 4,500 Hesa Fredrik, or VMA-tutors as it is also called. In three to four years, there will be over 5,000.
MSB and the Defence Forces are now reviewing how it looks with tutors across the country. For example, there are newly built areas that do not have any coverage.
