It was mostly minus signs for leading stock exchange indexes in Asia after a few hours of trading on Thursday. Some disappointment over chip giant Nvidia's prospects for future earnings is believed to have played a part.
In Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 index was down 1 percent and the broader Topix down 0.5 percent.
In Shanghai and Shenzhen and Hong Kong, indexes were around, or just below zero.
Only in South Korea was it a plus, with the Kospi index up 0.7 percent.
