Asia's leading stock exchanges mostly opened Wednesday's trading on a positive note.

In Tokyo, the key Nikkei 225 index had risen 0.1 percent around lunch local time, while the broader Topix index hovered around zero.

From Hong Kong, a more optimistic tone was heard as the Hang Seng index grew 0.5.

Shanghai's composite index did not join the chorus, instead falling 0.4, while the composite index in Shenzhen increased 0.3.
