The alarm about the fire came to SOS Alarm on Saturday morning.
The fire was burning fiercely and the building was fully engulfed. The rescue service worked on site with a "comprehensive resource package" to get the fire under control.
By Saturday afternoon, the fire was almost extinguished.
There are no flames and we have gone through the structure, says Peter Zettersten at the rescue service to TT at 15:30.
The rescue service's operation is expected to continue for at least another hour.
According to Strömstads tidning, there were no guests in the restaurant when the fire started and no one is reported to have been injured.
There is no suspect for involvement in the fire.
