Maria G Francke becomes the new culture editor at Sydsvenskan after Ida Ölmedal, who has moved on to the culture editor's job at Svenska Dagbladet. Francke has worked at the newspaper since 1997 and views her new job as "a very enjoyable honorary task", she tells the newspaper. In addition to her newspaper work, she also hosts the culture podcast "Dig up Skåne!" together with a former culture editor, Rakel Chukri, and Filip Yifter-Svensson.
The fact that more newspapers in Sweden have abolished their culture editors, Maria G Francke sees as "a poverty certificate".
