In total, 166 girls and young women were secretly filmed and photographed by the man between 2015 and 2023 in his role as a recreational leader at a school in Karlstad.

The material was stored in an advanced folder system on the computer, where the girls' names and grades were documented. The girls were fully clothed, but the images were manipulated, printed out, laminated, and used for masturbation.

The process was filmed and then shared with several other people. The man has admitted to parts of the crime.

Over one million in damages

In the district court, he is now sentenced to two years in prison for gross child pornography offenses.

He will also have to pay damages to 88 of the plaintiff girls – a total of 1.35 million kronor, reports SVT Värmland.

Another man – from Sundsvall – is sentenced to probation and damages for filming himself masturbating to child pornography images.

The whole thing was discovered when the Gothenburg police on Hisingen stumbled upon a link to a file-sharing site on a seized mobile phone.

School management criticized

Through the link, secretly taken pictures and films of young girls in a school environment were discovered – and at the same time, there were certain clues about who the material might belong to. Among other things, a school schedule and a login to the newspaper Dagens Nyheter's website on the internet were visible.

The now-convicted man was identified and arrested in the spring of 2023.

The case has received widespread attention in Karlstad, and criticism of the school management has been massive. Several parents have reported both the current school and the school corporation for dereliction of duty, reported SVT Värmland in August.

According to the parents, the school did not take signals about the man seriously.
