A 53-year-old man who was on trial for murdering his partner in Borlänge is sentenced by the Svea Court of Appeal to four years in prison for aggravated assault and gross negligence leading to another person's death. He is, however, acquitted of the charge of murder.
In the district court, the man was fully acquitted.
The 38-year-old woman was found dead in an apartment on March 15 last year. The prosecutor claims that the man killed her through strangulation. The man has admitted to grabbing the woman's throat, but claims it was a self-defense situation.
The woman had lethal doses of alcohol and medication in her body, and both the district court and the Court of Appeal believe that it may also have contributed to her death.
