The party leaders are welcome to the Élysée Palace at 2 pm on Tuesday. This means that Macron is breaking with his previous method, as he has met the party leaders individually.

The government and the country's conservative Prime Minister Michel Barnier fell last week after losing a vote of no confidence.

Dissatisfaction with the government has been great on both sides since Michel Barnier's and the ministers' inauguration just three months ago. But what triggered the no-confidence vote is that Barnier forced through the social insurance budget with an exception rule since he could not get enough support for it in parliament.
