The director and writer Lukas Moodysson is releasing his first poetry collection in almost two decades. It is his eighth in order, with the title "It was dark in my head but never in my heart" and will be published in February 2025.
According to the publisher, the poems deal with, among other things, "happiness, unhappiness, love, death, forest, darkness, light, dogs, the present, the past".
Moodysson broke through as a poet and writer in the late 1980s. After a few notable short films, his feature film debut "Fucking Åmål" was a sensation when it was released in 1998. His latest published book is the novel "Twelve months in shadow", from 2012, and his latest feature film, "Together 99", was released last year.
