In line with other streaming services such as Netflix and Disney, Warner Bros. Discovery is now sharpening its tone against password sharing on HBO Max. According to JB Perrette, responsible for the company's streaming and gaming division, they will already next month start a more offensive campaign to deter users from sharing their login information.

The company aims to close all opportunities to share accounts before the end of the year. According to Perrette, they have already tested methods to distinguish between real subscribers and unauthorized users.

So far, the reminders have been "relatively soft and easy to ignore", but going forward, the messages will be more direct and require the recipient to take action.

Warner Bros. Discovery expects revenue to start being positively affected during the fourth quarter and increase further in 2026. Despite the many name changes, HBO Max has grown with 3.4 million new customers during the last quarter.
