The Japanese gaming giant Nintendo has showcased a new game in the classic "The Legend of Zelda" series.
In "Echoes of Wisdom" – as the game is called – Link is swapped out for Princess Zelda as the main protagonist, for the first time ever.
The game is planned to be released on the Nintendo Switch on 26 September this year, and has a graphical style reminiscent of the new version of the Zelda game "Link's Awakening" which was released on the console last year.
In conjunction with the announcement, Nintendo also showcased the major game "Metroid Prime 4: Beyond", which has been plagued by extensive delays during its development. The title has long been rumoured as a launch title for a new Nintendo console, but now the company is announcing that the game will be released next year on the seven-year-old Switch.
Further games were presented in Nintendo's web broadcast. 110 mini-games will be available in "Super Mario Party Jamboree" which is coming in mid-October. The Italian plumber is also featured in the light-hearted role-playing game "Mario & Luigi: Brothership" which is coming on 7 November.
