Ingrid Lindblad takes a big step on the golf world ranking after winning her first tournament as a pro.
The 24-year-old talent was world number one among amateurs when she turned pro at the beginning of the summer. In a short time, she has since climbed from 704th to 226th place on the world ranking – and everything suggests that the climb has only just begun.
Lindblad has managed to play seven tournaments on the Epson Tour, a feeder tour to the LPGA tour, and after two second places, the first full hit came over the weekend. The Halland native won two strokes ahead of Slovenian Ana Belac in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
Ingrid Lindblad is seventh on the season ranking on the Epson Tour, where the top 15 will ultimately get playing rights on the LPGA tour next season. Only two tournaments remain.
