The man was shot with multiple shots when he opened the door to his apartment, in front of several family members. The act is linked to a conflict between criminal networks in Södertälje.

A young man, 17 years old at the time of the murder, has admitted to being the shooter and was sentenced to seven years in prison by the district court. The court of appeal reduced the sentence by two months, citing that he had been detained with restrictions for a long time. The decision that he will be deported for life after serving his sentence remains, despite being born and raised in Sweden.

The second man who was convicted of murder by the district court is convicted by the court of appeal of accessory to murder. According to the court of appeal, it is not proven that the man participated in the actual shooting, but that he was involved. His life sentence is converted to 14 years in prison.
