Let them kill us all

Around 20 people, six of them children, are reported to have been killed in Israel's latest attacks on the Gaza Strip. Our entire life is misery, says Umm Muhammad Abu Sabla, whose sister was killed in an attack on Khan Yunis.

In one of Saturday's Israeli attacks, on the Zeitun neighborhood in Gaza City, seven people were killed, including three children.

What had these people done? asks relative Abdullah Shaldan.

They were sleeping in their homes – they are civilians who absolutely have nothing to do with Hamas or the resistance (against Israel), he says to AFP.

In video clips from the news agency, people are seen searching through the rubble in the light of flashlights and mobile phones. In the darkness, a boy is heard crying for his father.

In another attack, six people were killed in Khan Yunis in southern Gaza, three of them children.

I ran there directly and saw the devastation and people carrying away body parts from the rubble, says 62-year-old Umm Muhammad Abu Sabla to AFP.

Her sister was one of those killed in the attack.

Our entire life is misery. Let them kill us all so that we can be free from this suffering, she says.

Deaths are also reported from Rafah in the south, as well as Nuseirat and Dayr al-Balah in central Gaza Strip.

In Dayr al-Balah, two women are said to have been shot dead when they queued on Saturday to buy bread.

According to eyewitnesses who spoke to the news agency AP, one of them was shot in the head and the other in the neck. The circumstances are unclear.
