Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M) stands firm on the government's decision to reject 13 applications for offshore wind power in the Baltic Sea.
It is incomprehensible to me that one can so lightly dismiss the risks seen by the Defence Forces, says Kristersson in the Riksdag during a report from an EU summit.
The former Moderate Defence Minister Mikael Odenberg has criticized the government for rejecting offshore wind power. He believes that it is possible to build wind turbines without significantly impairing the Defence Forces' capabilities, for example by installing radar sensors on the turbines.
Even the Total Defence Research Institute (FOI) has pointed out that other countries, such as Poland and Denmark, can solve the problem with various measures.
The government, on the other hand, points out that the time to detect, for example, a cruise missile from Kaliningrad would be halved if wind turbines stood in the way.
I am seriously concerned about companies and others who neglect Swedish security interests, says Ulf Kristersson.
