One year ago, Patrick Lundström and Kent Persson were killed in the terrorist attack in Brussels.

Now the duo will be honored.

The Swedish Football Association and supporter groups are arranging a memorial service at the Strawberry arena on October 16.

It's exactly one year since the event took place and it's on our minds, says the association's press chief Petra Thorén.

Shortly before Sweden's European Championship qualifying match against Belgium last year, a man with an automatic weapon shot at several people near the Sainctelette square in central Brussels. Two Swedish men were killed. A third Swede was seriously injured.

The perpetrator Abdesalam Lassoued was shot dead by the police the morning after the deed. He is believed to have had Islamist terrorist motives and targeted Swedes specifically.
