At 21:40 on Thursday evening, it was over. Again.
In December 2016, Kent did their last performance in the same arena on their farewell tour – until the band surprisingly announced last autumn that they would be back with concerts in March 2025.
In connection with this, Kent stated that they would neither record new music nor tour. And during the first comeback concert last week, singer Joakim Berg said from the stage that it was "a highly temporary resurrection".
"Our final burial"
But when the sixth concert was over, the question hanging in the air was whether this time it was the very last concert with Kent that had sounded out. Joakim Berg said so from the stage a couple of times, reported Aftonbladet.
Welcome to our final burial. Does no one believe me? But that's how it is, said Berg before the song "Kevlarsjäl" was played.
I'll say it again. This is actually the last time. If we're going to do it again in ten years, then we'll do it in wheelchairs. So it's not going to happen, emphasized Berg before "Förlåtelsen".
Record
There had been whispers and speculation that Kent would perform a new song on Thursday evening – but the setlist was largely the same as the previous concerts.
And after "Mannen i den vita hatten (16 år senare)" it was all over. For good or for now – well, that remains to be seen.
The six concerts at 3 Arena have been sold out and have been seen by nearly 40,000 visitors per evening. A total of 239,953 spectators have seen the concerts, which means that Kent sets a new audience record for a single artist at 3 Arena, according to the organizer United Stage.
