The Christian Democrats want EU-wide solutions to combat elder fraud, including a common standard for payments and better police cooperation.

After SVT's "Uppdrag gransknings" exposure in winter about how Swedish retirees are being swindled over the phone from Marbella, the government has demanded that Sweden's banks come up with measures to reduce fraud.

Since then, several major banks have introduced delayed payments.

Now, the Christian Democrats as part of their EU election manifesto want more measures at the EU level, such as a European standard for transaction limits and delayed processing of certain transactions.

She also wants a system for prohibiting business that applies throughout Europe.

To combat the fraud that occurs across national borders, the Christian Democrats want to strengthen international police and prosecutor cooperation.
