In the performance, which premieres in April, Henrik Norlén, Helena af Sandeberg, and Hampus Hallberg can be seen in the roles.

This is the first time the 1995 film is being staged as a play. "Pensionat Oskar" takes place in a ordinary cottage village with small worn-out houses near the sea. The Runeberg family comes here to celebrate a completely ordinary vacation – but that's only what they think.

"Pensionat Oskar is about breaking up and transformation in middle age", says Jonas Gardell in a press release and continues:

"But I was so damn young when I wrote it that I hadn't experienced breaking up or middle age, but I have now and I think I've brought that experience to the play, which in many ways is the same but completely different."

Jakob Höglund is responsible for the play's direction. "Pensionat Oskar" premieres on April 25, 2025.
