USA's President Joe Biden denies that he would pardon his son Hunter Biden in the event of a guilty verdict in the ongoing trial. The President told ABC News.
The trial against Hunter Biden began earlier in the week, with him accused of lying about his drug use in connection with the purchase of a revolver in the fall of 2018. At the time of the purchase, Hunter Biden stated through a form that he did not use narcotics.
In response to ABC News' question about whether Joe Biden would accept the result of his son's trial, the President replied "yes". He also replied "yes" to the question of whether he rules out a pardon in the event of a guilty verdict.
Trump-supporting Republicans have previously accused Joe Biden of using his position to help his son make business deals in Ukraine. However, no direct evidence has been presented.
Hunter Biden could be sentenced to up to 25 years in prison.
