The future seemed uncertain for the band Tenacious D in the middle of the summer. The day after the assassination attempt on Donald Trump, they performed a concert in Sydney and Kyle Gass received a birthday cake on stage. His wish? "Don't miss Trump next time."
The Australian tour was cancelled with immediate effect and Gass's band colleague Jack Black distanced himself from the statement. Now Black promises that Tenacious D will return.
In a red carpet interview for the film "Borderlands", Black told Variety that "We needed to take a break, everyone needs a break sometimes and we'll be back."
Regarding Kyle Gass, Black said that "We're still friends, it hasn't changed. Such things take time sometimes. We'll be back when it feels right. I love Tenacious D. It's probably my favorite job, if you can call it a job. It's a work of art, my baby".
