The military states in a statement that the air force carried out attacks and hit "terror targets" belonging to Hezbollah.
Earlier in the day, the London-based Syrian Human Rights Observatory (SOHR) reported that at least two Hezbollah members had been killed in attacks south of Syria's capital Damascus.
According to SOHR, at least three attacks were carried out in the area. Among the targets was a house used by "Hezbollah members and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard", according to SOHR.
Several other people are reported to have been injured.
The Syrian state-controlled news agency Sana has reported on the attacks, but stated that they only caused material damage.
"The Israeli enemy carried out an air raid from the occupied Golan Heights, targeting several civilian areas south of Damascus, which led to some material losses", a military source said according to Sana.
34-year-old Mehdi Mahfouz, who lives in the area, says he heard three explosions.
Then I saw a large black smoke cloud rising, he says.
According to a photographer from the AFP news agency, the explosions were heard in a nearby suburb.
