I would have done it today, but we would have just been in the way, said Trump to reporters on Tuesday when he was asked if he plans to visit the affected area.

Trump is now traveling there along with his wife Melania, the US Minister for Internal Security Kristi Noem, Texas Governor Greg Abbott and the Republican Senator Ted Cruz.

The search effort for the 170 missing is still ongoing, but the hope of finding survivors is decreasing day by day. No one has been found alive since the weekend.

Most of the deceased after the flood have been reported from Kerr County where 95 people have been confirmed dead, of which 36 are children.

Many of them participated in the severely affected Christian summer camp for girls, Camp Mystic, which was held right next to the Guadalupe River. In just 45 minutes, the river rose eight meters.
